How EduHelp Works

EduHelp Assessment and Parent Introduction

  • The first appointment is an EduHelp assessment to understand and identify your child’s needs, abilities and potential.
  • We determine from this how we can assist your child.

Feedback (report optional)

  • We meet with you to discuss the assessment and explain what we can do to help your child. You are also given a report.

Individual EduHelp programme

  • We prepare a tailor-made, individual programme to cater for your child’s particular needs.

 EduHelp sessions

  • Depending on the age and maturity of your child, sessions are from 20 minutes to 1 hour long. Under our guidance they work through a set of exercises to address their difficulties. All learning is done individually, unless specified otherwise by EduHelp.

Homework

  • 5 Days homework of 5 – 10 minutes (depending on the child) must be completed to see the benefits at their best.
  • The homework is usually 3 to 4 times a week. The homework must be completed to see the benefits. We understand that school homework load is huge and do not want to add to this but some work (which is kept to a minimum) has to be done as the repetition at home allows your child to remember the concepts taught in their sessions.
  • Their understanding is essential to them being able to apply the techniques in class.

Academic Writing Support and Editing

Loudine offers one-on-one online academic writing support coaching sessions for postgraduate, undergraduate, and secondary students. Students are welcome to bring a piece of work they are currently busy with for help and advice, or they can request help with certain aspects of their writing. Alternatively, if booking multiple lessons, they can ask for coaching on specific aspects of academic writing.

Students can also send in their written work for editing, fact-checking, feedback on structure and style, reference checking, prompt checking, etc. Editing is categorized into three tiers:

Tier 1: Basic

  •  Academic proofreading: spell and grammar check, basic structural elements: intro, body paragraphs, conclusion, thesis statement, cohesion, includes 1 revision.
  • This is for fairly well-written work that needs minor proofreading for grammar, punctuation, spacing, flow, typos, and consistency.

Tier 2: Light

  • Academic editing (light): basic tier plus prompt check, plagiarism scan, feedback, 1 revision included.
  • Papers that need relatively little editing, but still need improvement in grammar, punctuation, flow, spacing, syntax, spacing, consistency, etc.

Tier 3: Substantive

  • Academic editing (extensive): light tier plus structural editing, rewriting, fact-checking, suggestions for knowledge gaps, more directly answering the prompt/addressing the thesis statement, research reports/theses, post-grad dissertations, etc.
  • 2 Revisions included.
